Jett James Wilson was born in 1991 in Sydney, Australia. His father was a pilot with the Royal Australian Airforce (which is how Jett got his name), and his mother a bridal gown designer who owned her own boutique in the Queen Victoria Building. The owned a house on Sydney Harbour and from a young age, Jett was a frequent visitor to Bondi Beach where he grew up loving the beach and being an avid surfer with his group of mates. However, Jett always wanted to be in the military like his father. He was a bit of a strong personality, the leader in his group of friends, and a member of the state-level debate team in high school. He was definitely a part of the "popular" crowd right through school and was School Captain in the dux in his final year. He was smart, and had a drive to fight. He wanted to be a soldier, and nothing would sway that ambition.
His life had a tough few years when he was 13 through to 15. His father was deployed to the war in Afghanistan and his mother was diagnosed with breast cancer, and she hadn't want Jett's father to know because it would only worry him. Her prognosis had been good, but it was also not at all accurate. Jett nursed his mother single-handedly with the help of the Young Carers organisation for almost six months, but she passed away in the middle of her final round of chemo when she contracted an infection and was too weak to fight it. Jett's father was horrified and he was flown home on the grounds of family emergency. He never recovered from losing his wife, and he was never psychologically fit to return to service, retired on medical grounds.
This only fuelled Jett's desire to join the military more. In a way to release a lot of pent-up anger at losing his mother, he started obsessively working out, quitting surfing and spending all his time at the gym or pounding a punching bag in the garage at home. As soon as he finished high school, he joined the Army and after his entry training and qualifications, he, too, was deployed to Afghanistan to finish the fight his father began. He was a frontline fighter, and actually earned a medal of honour when he saved his best friend, Luka Delaney's life when a battle broke out and his sharp instincts kicked it. He wasn't aware at the time, but his status ignited through the international media, and in particular, one Molly Pierce took a keen interest in his story.
But saving someone's life and being a hero was never a guarantee your's to be squeaky clean forever. It was only three months later that Jett suffered an horrific tragedy of his own. In the middle of another battle, he stepped on a landmine and was almost blown to bits. He was lucky he didn't lost any limbs, but he lost so much more. The explosion left him a complete quadriplegic and he was left no function in any of his body from the neck down and instead of being transported home to Australia, he was flown to a quadriplegia unit in New York City where he would apparently have one of the top team of spinal injury specialists working to try to recover even just a small amount of his functioning. It was just clutching at straws, however, and Jett would rather had been killed than subjected to this horrible life. His body was a vegetable, even if his mind was still sharp. His life became wasting away in a hospital bed, completely useless. If he could, he would have killed himself and many times, asked a nurse to do it for him.
He had been in the hospital for four weeks when he got a mysterious visitor by the name of Molly Pierce. She had followed his story avidly and at that point, he hadn't known she had been influential in having him brought to New York City. She sat with him, because it wasn't like he could do anything about it if he told her to fuck off. She wouldn't have. She was a Brujah, and apparently that meant highly stubborn when set on one's goals. That day, Jett learned all about Kindred and The Masquerade. He learned that she was a vampire, and she could give him a gift of not just eternal life, but a life where he would re-awaken with complete use of his body... in a different sense, of course. It wasn't a gift that would come without sacrifices. But he took it. He had listened without a single waver, and by the time she was done, he was begging her to save him from this awful life of living like a vegetable with no hope of recovery.
And Embrace him she did. With the assistance and knowledge of her lover, Kindred Prince of New York, Benjamin Knight, Molly Embraced Jett late that very night. Due to the severity of his injuries, she had known that he would take some time to re-awaken and he lay dead in the hospital room where he was declared clinically dead by the nightshift doctor and transferred to the morgue. With the help of some of her most trusted Clan members, Molly had Jett's body stolen from the morgue and replaced with a homeless John Doe. Jett was delivered to her at her apartment where it took him three weeks to re-awaken, a stressful time for her where she was placated by her lover and coaxed to remain calm and not let her Brujah reckless urges take over. She was a Sire now, and she had a whole knew territory to explore herself.
Jett has now been re-awakened for a month, and is too young yet to really have his Kindred feet. He sticks extremely close to Molly, who is still teaching him and guiding him in the ways of their Kind and their Clan. He is every bit a Brujah, bringing those human traits for him over into his new Kindred life. He can be feisty and outspoken, argumentative and headstrong, and Molly has her hands full a little when he has the urges to sink his fangs into anything with a pulse. Their relationship has taken on very much of a big sister/younger brother dynamic and he also brought with him his mischievous Aussie sense of humour, which can be infuriating to many.
Within a vampire bloodline known as The Kindred, seven vampire clans are collectively joined, forming the largest sect of vampires called the Camarilla, and survive through the Masquerade, disguising themselves as humans. Camarilla policy is that vampires should try to fit in with and hide from the rest of humanity, as to easily feed on them. For this reason, they created a web of lies and misinformation, called the Masquerade, to make the public believe that supernatural beings like vampires could not possibly exist. The Camarilla also believes that the only way the vampire species can survive in these modern nights is if it unite. Any breach of the Masquerade by any vampire risks exposing the entire race. Both viewpoints are fundamentally opposed by the Sabbat, an opposing sect to the Camarilla. The Camarilla also enforces the Eldest as ruling class over the younger vampires. The seven clans of the Camarilla are Ventrue, Brujah, Malkavian, Toreador, Gangrel, Tremere and Nosferatu. When a human is turned by a Kindred vampire, it is known as the Embrace, the vampire siring the human to embrace them into their own bloodline.
Each city has a ruler, a "Prince" who enforces the laws of The Masquerade that govern them to protect their anonymity. A clan is a group of vampires "related" by blood; i.e. the vampiric equivalent of an extended family or lineage. A clan is usually a large group, acknowledged widely in the vampiric society. Each clan nurture their own characteristics and traits, and each clan has its strengths and weaknesses. Often the clans do not always get along with certain clans such as the Brujah and the Ventrue actually hating one another. Each clan within a given area has a representative, a Primogen, who is usually the eldest and most powerful member of the clan, who attends the leader or prince's advisory council. This status also grants the character social advantages and greater power than being a normal member of their clan.

All that a Brujah does, he does with passion that is his curse and his blessing. Brujah adopt passions and causes, which they support with volume and vitriol. Some Brujah follow charismatic members of their clan, while others prefer stances of blatant, defiant individualism. Many Brujah are glad to have an opportunity to speak their minds, then indulge in a bit of destruction afterward to illustrate their points. As divided as the Clan is, all work against each other in some way, and even when some rivalries within are more embittered than in any other Clan, they still keep together (after the proverb "I against my brother, my brothers and I against my cousins, my cousins and I against strangers"). If any Kindred not of their blood would oppose a Brujah, they would face the wrath of the whole Clan, as even idealists would defend iconoclasts in front of the Prince and each iconoclast is more than ready to beat someone up who humiliated a Clan member within Elysium.
Two conventions the clan does support universally are the Rant and the Rave. Rants are just that: Informal meetings of Brujah (and other insurgents, Kindred and kine) at which anyone who can scream loudly enough can have her opinions heard. Raves, named after the all-night techno dance parties started in England, are social gatherings in the guise of huge-scale musical or entertainment events. One usually leads to another, and clues to the locations of the events are often hidden in the media of the gathering in progress.
